More suspects deported from Dubai

Two more suspects who were arrested at a hotel in Dubai in February with notorious underworld leader Makandure Madush, were deported to Sri Lanka and detained at the Katunayake airport. The suspects were identified as Mohammed Nazim Mohammed Faizer and Mohomed Jabeer Mohomed Mufa. The Police said that the two suspects were detained at the airport last night by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). Indian Defence Secretary in Sri Lanka for talks

Indian Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra arrived in Sri Lanka today to participate in a bilateral defence dialogue hosted by the Ministry of Defence. During his two-day visit Mitra is expected to meet President Maithripala Sirisena, Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando, Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and the Tri Services Commanders as well as several other politicians and officials. Sri Lankan refugee suffers horrendous burns in Melbourne blaze

A Sri Lankan refugee who was injured during a chemical factory fire in Melbourne is recovering in hospital after being engulfed in flames, the Daily Mail reported Vignesh Varatharaja, who fled the civil war in Sri Lanka to start a new life in Australia, was set on fire after a chemical drum he was pumping exploded.
