Four arrested with 100kg of explosives and detonators

Four people have been arrested with 100kg of explosives and several other items, including detonators, the Police said. The?Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had made the arrest in?Wanathawilluwa in Puttalam. The Police said that the explosives and other items were found hidden in a coconut estate. Commission appointed to probe corruption during unity Government

A Presidential Commission has been?appointed to investigate allegations of corruption said to have taken place when the unity Government was in office. President Maithripala Sirisena appointed the Commission of Inquiry to investigate allegations of corruption that took place between 15th January 2015 to 31st December 2018. The President has appointed retired Supreme Court judge Upali Abeyratne as the Chairman of the commission. (Colombo Gazette)
