No new coronavirus patients detected in 24 hours

The Government says no new patients were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in Sri Lanka within the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today.

The Ministry of Health said the 24 hours were monitored from 06.00 a.m. yesterday.

No new patients were detected during the course of yesterday as well, the Ministry added.

A total of 102 patients were confirmed to have contracted the novel coronavirus in Sri Lanka as of Tuesday night (24).

Three patients, including the 2 Sri Lankans and a Chinese woman, have so far recovered and have been discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda.

The Ministry of Health says 99 active coronavirus cases have been reported in Sri Lanka.

A total of 255 patients are currently under medical observation across a number of hospitals in the country on suspicion of having contracted the virus.

Meanwhile, the Military says 3029 persons are currently placed in 46 quarantine centres across the country. (Colombo Gazette)

Number of HIV infected male patients on the rise in Sri Lanka

The number of HIV infected male patients is on the rise in Sri Lanka, the National STD/AIDS Control Programme of the Ministry of Health said.
