Namal Kumara ordered to be further remanded

Anti-Corruption Force Operations Director Namal Kumara was today ordered to be further remanded.

He had been remanded till today over the violence which erupted following the Easter Sunday attacks.

The Hettipola Magistrate?s Court ordered that Namal Kumara be further remanded till 9 January. (Colombo Gazette)

Stay order preventing the arrest of Gotabaya Rajapaksa extended

A stay order issued by the Court of Appeal preventing the arrest of former?Secretary of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa, has been further extended till February 28th. The stay order was issued to the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID). The FCID was looking to arrest?Gotabaya Rajapaksa over the use of public funds for the construction of the D.A.Rajapaksa museum when he was the?Secretary of Defence. Gotabaya Rajapaksa had filed a petition in court against the move to arrest him.
