Gotabaya leads in results released so far

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa is leading in the results in so far at the 2019 Presidential election.

Key SLPP members said that they expect Rajapaksa to win the election by a clear margin.

While New Democratic Front Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa secured the highest votes in the Tamil dominated North and parts of the East, Rajapaksa led in most areas in the Sinhalese dominated South.

The remaining of the 35 candidates who contested the election were far behind in numbers.

Case filed in Madras seeking extradition of Lankans
