Protests were staged in a number of areas today demanding fuel and gas. The Police said that protests were staged along the Borella – Maradana Road and Colombo – Negombo Road. Litro Gas Lanka Limited had said today that there was a delay in unloading LP gas from a ship at the Colombo Port owing to adverse weather. Victims of the final stages of the war were remembered at GotaGoGama in Galle Face today. Tamils and Sinhalese gathered at GotaGoGama to commemorate the Tamils killed during the last stages of the war involving the LTTE and the military. Events were also held in the North and East to remember the victims of the war, especially those killed in Mullivaikkal during the final battle.
