CBK says JO members of the SLFP vacated their posts

Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga says Joint Opposition (JO) members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) vacated their posts and were not really removed.

Kumaratunga told reporters that she was appointed?SLFP Organizer for Attanagalla much earlier and not last week.

“I got this post two year ago,” she said.

She says she only received the formal letter last week together with a few other SLFP members.

President Maithripala Sirisena had last week removed joint opposition members Kumara Welgama and Mahindananda Aluthgamage from their SLFP Organizer posts.

Kumaratunga said that those who are not involved in SLFP work cannot hold posts in the party. (Colombo Gazette)

Peshala Jayarathna ordered to pay compensation to school principal

Former Chief Minister of the North Central Province Peshala Jayarathna has been ordered to pay compensation to a school principal?over an unfair transfer. The Supreme Court today ordered Jayaratne to pay Rs 250,000 as compensation to the school principal who had filed a case over unfair transfer.
