Karunanidhi meets UK envoy on Lankan issue

India’s DMK Chief M.K Karunanidhi has had discussions on Sri Lanka with the British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai?Mike Nithavrianakis.

The discussion had taken place yesterday when the?British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai met?Karunanidhi.

Indian Tamil media reports said that?Karunanidhi had taken up the resolution adopted on Sri Lanka at the TESO conference in Chennai recently.

Meanwhile?Karunanidhi, in a statement, raised concerns over the arrest of university students in Jaffna.

He called for their immediate release and also urged the Indian High Commission in Colombo to intervene over the issue. (Colombo Gazette)

LG polls postponed again

Parliament is facing a shortage of eggs,?Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Security Nalin Fernando said today. Fernando said that Sri Lanka has facing a serious shortage of eggs in the market. “Eggs could not even be supplied to Parliament over the past two weeks,” he said.
