Mahesh Senanayake discharged from hospital

The National People’s Movement Presidential candidate General (RtD) Mahesh Senanayake has been discharged from hospital and has resumed campaign activities.

Earlier today (22) Senanayake was taken to the Balangoda hospital due to a mild illness, a close confidante of the Presidential hopeful told the Colombo Gazette.

Senanayake had been suffering with the viral flue for a few days and was taken to the Balangoda hospital today.

Senanayake has now been discharged and has recommenced campaigning activities. (Colombo Gazette)

More arrests by TID reported in Jaffna

More people have been arrested in Jaffna by the?Terrorist?Investigations Division (TID), the Uthayan newspaper reported?quoting sources as saying. According to the report 13 people between the ages of 19 and 55 were arrested over the past 2 days which includes 7 arrested by the TID and brought to Colombo this week.
