Overseas travel ban on Yoshitha’s relative over Rs. 59 million joint account

An overseas travel ban has been imposed on Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s relative Daisy Forrest over investigations being carried out into a Rs. 59 million joint bank account.

The Police said that Yoshitha Rajapaksa was unable to clarify how Rs. 59 million was accumulated in the joint bank account.

The Kaduwela Magistrate?s Court imposed the overseas travel ban on Daisy Forrest and named her as a suspect in the case.

Rajapaksa also has an overseas travel ban imposed on him after he was arrested and later released in January.

He was arrested in January on the advice of the Attorney General after it was determined that there was sufficient evidence to charge Rajapaksa under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act No. 5 of 2006. (Colombo Gazette)
