Harini recalls Manmohan’s contribution to Indo-Lanka relations

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasooriya noted that late Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had a profound influence on the good relations between India and Sri Lanka.

She said this in her note on the condolence book opened by the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka to honor the late former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasooriya paid her respects by leaving a note in the condolence book at the High Commission in Colombo on Monday.

As a mark of respect for Dr. Manmohan Singh, India has declared a seven-day period of state mourning from 26 December 2024 to 1 January 2025.

Singh led the country from 2004 to 2014 and was considered the architect of India?s economic liberalisation.

Singh changed India?s economic growth trajectory during his time as prime minister and as the country?s finance minister in 1991. (Colombo Gazette)
