Johnston Fernando and Pavithra lose their Parliament seats

Former MPs Johnston Fernando and Pavithra Wanniarachchi have lost their seats in Parliament.

Fernando lost his seat in Parliament after the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) failed to secure a seat in the Kurunegala District at the 2024 Parliament Elections.

The National People’s Power (NPP) secured 12 seats in Kurunegala and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya 3 seats.

Meanwhile, former Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi also failed to secure her seat in Parliament from the Ratnapura District.

Other prominent former MPs who failed to secure seats in the new Parliament include:
