Ajith Mannapperuma quits SJB following dispute with Sajith Premadasa

Former Member of Parliament Ajith Mannapperuma resigned from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) following a dispute with party leader Sajith Premadasa, just hours after handing over his nominations to contest the Parliament election.

Mannapperuma said that he will not be contesting the election and urged his supporters not to use their vote for him.

The former MP expressed outrage over his removal as the party organiser for the Gampaha District.

Mannapperuma said that he was not informed by Premadasa that he was being replaced.

The former MP also said that Premadasa has not answered his phone calls after being removed.

As a result he said he was resigning from the SJB and will not contest the election. (Colombo Gazette)

Ship anchored off Panadura begins sinking

A foreign ship anchored off Panadura for the past three years has begun sinking, a ship engineer told the Colombo Gazette today. Second Engineer M.
