Hashan Thilakaratne and wife extend support to Sajith

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Hashan Thilakaratne and his wife Apsari Thilakaratne have decided to extend support to Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa.

Thilakaratne and his wife Apsari Thilakaratne met Premadasa and extended their support to him at the upcoming presidential election.

Tillakaratne, senior former cricketer of the World Cup Winning Sri Lankan Cricket team, joined the SJB to support the mission of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa to rebuild the country, the SJB said.

He is currently working as the coach of the women’s cricket team in Bangladesh.

The SJB said that his wife, Mrs. Apsari Sinhabahu Tillakaratne, the convener of the Sri Lanka Women?s Cricket Team, also joined the SJB and pledged her support to the Opposition Leader. (Colombo Gazette)

Sri Lanka’s internet freedom declined from June 2021 to May 2022

Bureau of Rehabilitation Bill inconsistent with Constitution

The Bureau of Rehabilitation Bill has been found to be inconsistent with the Constitution by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court determined that the Bill, as a whole, is inconsistent with Article 12 (1) of the Constitution and can be enacted only by a special majority.
