Joint opposition protesters staged an overnight vigil in Colombo near the Lake House roundabout following a protest march against the Government. Hundreds of protesters gathered near?Lake House and joined members of the joint opposition for the vigil. The protesters lit candles and newspapers during the vigil. The organisers of the protest provided meals to the protesters with some estimating meals being provided to 30,000 people. (Colombo Gazette)

Moody’s rates Sri Lankan banking system outlook as negative

OMP hands over interim report to the President

The Office on Missing Persons (OMP) handed an interim report containing interim recommendations to President Maithripala Sirisena today. The report was handed over to the President in Parliament. The report contains recommendations for interim relief as well as securing truth and justice. The OMP?led by?President?s Counsel?Saliya Pieris, was established in February 2018 and since then it has met with families of the missing, particularly in the North and East.?(Colombo Gazette)
