Tamil parties to pick common candidate from two finalists

The Tamil political parties who decided to field a common candidate at the upcoming Presidential elections, will pick their nominee from 2 finalists. Contempt of court petition against Diana Gamage dismissed

A contempt of court application filed in the Supreme Court against former MP Diana Gamage has been dismissed. The former MP was accused of contempt of court after she publicly stated that she does not accept the court verdict on her citizenship. SLPP to announce its presidential candidate on Wednesday

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will announce its presidential candidate on Wednesday, SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said.
