AG concludes action on over 13,200 cases

The Attorney General’s Department has concluded action on 13,283 criminal cases within the first 10 months of this year. In addition, 8,319 indictments have been forwarded to the High Courts. This was revealed to the Colombo Gazette by the Attorney General?s Coordinating Officer, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne.

Senanayake refuses to resign from State Minister post

State Minister Vasantha Senanayake has refused to resign from his State Minister post. Senanayake said that he had initially planned to submit his resignation letter to President Maithripala Sirisena. However after the latest developments he had decided not to resign.
