President accepts Ranjith Siyambalapitiya’s resignation

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has accepted the resignation of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
Siyambalapitiya had stepped down from his post recently.
The Deputy Speaker told reporters that he had informed President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena that he will not remain in his post after 30th April.
He had resigned?earlier last month?but later decided to continue until the end of April.
Siyambalapitiya had told Parliament that he will remain in the post only until the end of April.
He said that he had not accepted any perks offered by Parliament and had hoped the current crisis in the country will be resolved by the end of April.
However, he says it now seems the crisis will continue to drag.?(Colombo Gazette)
