Isolation status imposed on Kosgama lifted

The isolation status imposed on the Kosgama Police area has been lifted with immediate effect, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva announced.

Kosgama was isolated along with Avissawella and Ruwanwella from last Thursday (24).

The Army Commander said at the time that the three Police areas were isolated as a precautionary measure due to an increase in Covid infected persons.

Meanwhile, eight Police areas and 73 Grama Seva areas remain under isolation. (Colombo Gazette)

Namal Kumara further remanded

Anti-Corruption Force Operations Director Namal Kumara was today ordered to be further remanded. He had been remanded till today over the violence which erupted following the Easter Sunday attacks. The Hettipola Magistrate?s Court ordered that Namal Kumara be further remanded till 23 January.
