Number of coronavirus patients in Sri Lanka rises to 18

The number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka has risen to 18, the Health Ministry said. The number rose from 11 to 18 after seven more coronavirus infected Sri Lankans were identified this evening. The seven are all are males from Italy who were admitted to the Kandakadu camp. Sri Lankan gets five-year jail term in India for spying

Sri Lankan national Arun Selvarajan has been sentenced to five-years imprisonment in Chennai in connection with the sensational Thameem Ansari spy case, the IANS news service reported. A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Chennai pronounced the judgement on Friday convicting Selvarajan for all the charges slapping him with five years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. Tomorrow will not be a holiday, situation to be monitored

The Government says tomorrow (Tuesday) will not be a special holiday but the situation will be closely monitored. Cabinet spokesman Bandula Gunawardena said that the Government will closely monitor the situation and decide on the next step. He said that Government agencies need to function and as a result most operations will be back to normal tomorrow. The Government is to review the situation on Friday and decide on the next course of action. (Colombo Gazette)
