Another forty-three arrivals contract coronavirus

Another forty-three arrivals have contracted the coronavirus, the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said today.

NOCPCO said the 43 new patients were detected over the 24-hour period ending at 6am today.

Of the 43 arrivals detected with the virus, 24 are from Qatar.

The Defence Ministry says claims of a threat to Churches in Sri Lanka has not been verified. Issuing a statement today, Defence Secretary, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd.) said that there were reports circulating on social media of a threat to Churches in Sri Lanka.
