Former Navy Commander, Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today to make a statement regarding the disappearance of 11 youth in Colombo. Protests cripple Colombo, Police fire water and tear gas

Protests crippled Colombo today forcing the Police to fire water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protests. University students and a group against moves to dump garbage at a site in Puttalam staged two separate protests in Colombo today. The protests resulted in huge traffic blocks being experienced in parts of Colombo. Three killed, nine injured in shooting in Dutch city of Utrecht

Three people have been killed and several wounded in a shooting in the Dutch city of Utrecht, a police spokesperson said. A witness told local broadcaster RTV Utrecht that the shooting took place inside a tram at the 24 Oktoberplein in the city’s west.
