Woman gives birth to triplets in Kalmunai hospital

The mother is said to be a 28 year-old resident of Komari who had initially been admitted to a hospital in the area. Fire causes extensive damage to house in Slave Island

A major fire swept through a house in Slave Island today causing extensive damage. The fire brigade had been deployed to the location to bring the firer under control. The fire was eventually extinguished by the fire brigade with the assistance of area residence. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
