Cash worth over USD 140,000 seized from Dematagoda house

Cash worth over USD 140,000 has been seized from a house in Dematagoda, the Police said.

The Police said that USD to the value of USD 140,000 and Rs. 30 million were found in the house.

Based on information received by the Police an operation was launched to search the house in Dematagoda.

The Police found heroin and the money, including foreign currency in the house.

A suspect was arrested and handed over to the Harbour Police.?The suspect is a 55 year-old resident of Dematagoda.

Investigations revealed the money was earned through drug trafficking.

The Police said the money had been transferred through the Mundial System. (Colombo Gazette)

Yupun qualifies for men?s 100 meters semi finals at Commonwealth Games

Sri Lanka?s Yupun Abeykoon qualified for the men?s 100 meters semi finals at the Commonwealth Games. He was placed first in heat 06 of the first round of the 100 meters men?s event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games being held in Birmingham.
