An entire month to fight dengue

The government has decided to declare an entire month to fight the spread of dengue in the country, the Health Ministry said. The dengue eradication month will come into effect from June 25th to July 25th, the Health Ministry said. The decision was taken when Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena convened an urgent meeting today with a Presidential Task Force to combat dengue. UPFA Bulathsinhala Pradeshiya Sabha member Lakmini Anupama Panditharatne has been arrested over allegations of committing fraud. Julampitiye Amare remanded

Underworld figure Julampitiye Amare was remanded by the Tangalle High Court after he surrendered to the police over warrants issued against his name.
