Campaign targets vigil participants

A hate campaign has been launched using Facebook to target the participants of a vigil staged last week outside the Bodu Bala Sena office at Thunmulla. Sirasa lodges complaint with the police

The MTV and MBC?network (Sirasa)??has?received information of?a possible attack on its journalists. An official of the network said that a complaint was lodged with the Slave Island police regarding the information it?received. Police probe Borella suicide

The police are investigating the suspected suicide of a man at the Elvitigalle flats in Borella. The police media unit said that the man had shot himself using a pistol on Saturday night. According to the police, the victim was identified as 55 year old Chandima Deshapriya. He is said to be a marksman and a member of a sports club in Kandy from where he?received?the 9 mm pistol.
