Two cops interdicted over stabbing at Kegalle court

Two policemen who were on duty outside the Kegalle court have been interdicted over a stabbing incident.

The two policemen had been guarding the gate of the court when a man who entered the premises killed his wife while she was waiting to appear before the judge.

The man and his wife had appeared in court over a maintenance case.

The man had stabbed the woman and she succumbed to her injuries. (Colombo Gazette)

Three people have been arrested with grenades and swords in Modara, the Police said. The Police said that the suspects had in their possession locally manufactured hand grenades and swords. The arrest was made following a search operation carried out by the security forces.

Public assistance sought to locate suspects linked to bombings

Public assistance has been sought to locate a group of suspects linked to the Easter Sunday bombings. The Police said they are looking for individuals identified as Mohammad Ivuhaim Sadiq Abdul Haq, Mohammed Ivuhaim Shaid Abdul Haq, Mohammed Casim Mohammed Rilwan, Fatima Latif, Pulasthini Rajendran alias Sarah and Abdul Cader Fatima Kadir.
