Above normal warm weather was experienced in most parts of the country today, including late in the evening. The department of meteorology said that the?maximum temperature values were approximately 4?oC above normal in?Jaffna, approximately 3 oC?above normal in?Hambantota, Katugastota, Mannar and Trincomalee, approximately 2 oC above normal?in?Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Kurunegala, Maha-Illuppallama, Nuwara-Eliya, Puttalam, Ratmalana and?Vauniya while in other areas it was a little above normal

Over 7500 devotees attend Kachchativu church feast

Over 7500 devotees including clergy from both Sri Lanka and India attended the feast of?St. Anthony’s church in Kachchativu, the Navy said today. The annual feast of St. Anthony’s church in Kachchativu islet was held during the weekend (20 & 21 February 2016) with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Navy. Vote on proposed Constitutional Assembly postponed

The vote on the?proposed Constitutional Assembly which was to be taken on Parliament tomorrow after a two day debate, has been postponed.
