A 16-year-old girl has died and four others, including three children have been admitted to hospital in Uppuveli after a woman gave poison to her children and attempted to commit suicide. Seven inmates at Bogambara prison contract coronavirus

Seven inmates at the old Bogambara prison have contracted the coronavirus, the Prisons Department said. Health Ministry Spokesman Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara told the Colombo Gazette that there is a fear a third wave of the coronavirus will spread around the world early next year.
