Major General D.R.A.B Jayatilake, one of the members of the military court martial which ruled against former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka, has died. Major General Jayatilake held the post of Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and President of the Army Buddhist Association at the time of his untimely death yesterday. Sacred relics arrive in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa received the relics of Buddha (bone fragments excavated in Kapilavastu and considered sacred by Buddhists) at a stately ceremony at the Bandaranaike airport in Colombo. Range Bandara?s wife hospitalized

The wife of UNP Puttalam district MP Palitha Range Bandara was hospitalized this morning after being allegedly assaulted by her husband. According to the Mirihana police Mrs. Bandara was admitted to the Sri Jayawardenapura hospital following the alleged assault. The hospital police post had recorded a statement from the wife of the UNP MP and then informed the Mirihana police over the incident.
