The Chief Security Advisor to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay was in Sri Lanka ahead of the scheduled visit by Pillay to the country. Asylum seekers brought ashore

The Navy?s Offshore Patrol Vessel Samudura brought all the 73 stranded Sri Lankans ashore safely today, the Navy media unit said. On the direction of the Navy, a merchant vessel heading for Singapore had rescued them 290 nautical miles south east of Galle around noon on Wednesday. Lankans escape detention

Three Sri Lankans have escaped from a detention center in?Sukabumi, Indonesia. The three Sri Lankans and three Iranians were reported missing when a head count was done on the number of immigrants at the center.
