Two suspects arrested over Hanwella shooting incident

Two suspects have been arrested over a shooting incident in Hanwella in which one person was killed and two others sustained injuries.

The gunmen had arrived in a van and opened fire in the Embulgama Junction in Hanwella.

The Police said that two people sustained injuries in the shooting incident and were admitted to hospital.

A 23-year-old man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Another person was later admitted to hospital with injuries sustained during the shooting incident.

Number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka continues to rise

The number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka continued to rise late this evening. The Ministry of Health said that 588 patients had been detected with the virus as of late this evening (Monday). Of the 588 patients there are 455 coronavirus active patients in Sri Lanka so far while 126 have recovered and have been discharged from hospital. More coronavirus patients detected

Four more persons infected with COVID-19 were detected in Sri Lanka today. The Ministry of Health said the latest detections raise the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Sri Lanka to 592.
