Sports Minister prevents Thilanga from holding SLC post

Sports Minister Harin Fernando has issued a directive preventing former Sri Lanka Cricket Board President Thilanga Sumathipala from holding any post at the Sri Lanka Cricket board.

In a letter to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Minister Harin Fernando directed officials at Sri Lanka Cricket to exclude Sumathipala from participating, sitting or voting in any meetings of SLC committees and also prevent him from performing any functions or duties as an office bearer or as the immediate past president of SLC.

Ranil given fresh date to appear before Presidential Commission

Eleven JMI members handed over to TID

Eleven members of the Jama?athe Milla?athe Ibrahim (JMI) who were arrested in Ampara recently, have been handed over to the Terrorism Investigations Division (TID), the Police said today. The Police had made multiple arrests of members of the National Thowheed Jama?ath (NTJ) and Jama?athe Milla?athe Ibrahim following the Easter Sunday attacks. Both the NTJ and JMI have been banned in Sri Lanka.
