Private Catholic schools to reopen on 14th May

The Catholic Church has decided to reopen private Catholic schools for the second term on the 14th of May.

The Archbishop of Colombo, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said that the decision to reopen private Catholic schools had been taken following assurances obtained by the authorities over the security provided to schools.

Senior grades of Government schools have already commenced while junior grades will commence on Monday.

Former LTTE cadre arrested over Vavuniya incident

A former LTTE cadre was arrested today over his involvement in an incident at a housing scheme for families of soldiers in Vavuniya.
