Wasantha Mudalige discharged from charges under the PTA

By Easwaran Rutnam Student activist Wasantha Mudalige was today discharged from all the charges filed against him under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA). The charges filed under the PTA on the Convener of Inter University Students’ Federation were discharged by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court. Businessman murdered in Mount Lavinia

A businessman was murdered in Mount Lavinia late this evening. The Police said the victim was stabbed to death along De Seram Road in Mount Lavinia. The Police said that the murder had taken place over a private dispute involving a close relative. Police investigations over the murder have been launched. (Colombo Gazette)
