Mano Tittawella under fire in Parliament

Senior Advisor to the Finance Ministry Mano Tittawella, was accused in Parliament today of dictating the direction Sri Lanka should take at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Opposition Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa told Parliament that Tittawella had given instructions to Sri Lanka’s Ambassador in Geneva with regards to the draft Resolution which Sri Lanka cosponsored.

“How can he decide Sri Lanka’s foreign policy? Who is he? Do not let him dictate terms,” Weerawansa said in Parliament.

Mano Tittawella was part of the Sri Lankan delegation which attended the discussion on Sri Lanka in Geneva last week.

Fort Magistrate?s Court issues order against MainaGoGama protest

The Fort Magistrate?s Court has issued a court order against the MainaGoGama protest. The court ordered that all structures, vehicle and other belongings of the protesters placed near Temple Trees in Colombo which are causing an obstruction to pedestrians be removed. President accepts Ranjith Siyambalapitiya’s resignation

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has accepted the resignation of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ranjith Siyambalapitiya. Siyambalapitiya had stepped down from his post recently.
