Crew member of airline arrested at BIA with gold bangles

A Sri Lankan crew member of a foreign airline was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with gold bangles smuggled into the country.

The crew member had arrived in the country from Qatar when he was arrested.

He had in his possession 423 gold bangles worth more than Rs.20 million at the time of arrest. (Colombo Gazette)
