Entry road to Katunayake expressway from Peliyagoda to be closed

The entry road to the Katunayake expressway from Peliyagoda is to be closed?from 4th October. Officials said that the Peliyagoda entry point to the expressway will be closed?due to construction work to be carried out on the new Kelani Bridge. Government allocates Rs. 2, 057 billion for debt servicing in 2019

The Government has allocated Rs. 2, 057 billion for debt servicing in 2019, the Ministry of Finance said today. This is the largest amount of money a Government in the history of this country is compelled to bear in repaying its borrowings, the Ministry said Out of this amount, Rs.1, 271 should be paid locally next year while Rs.786 billion, which is equal to 4,650 million US dollars should be paid to foreign lenders. Three youth arrested over semi-nude pics further remanded

Three youth who were arrested over semi-nude photographs taken on the Pidurangala rock have been further remanded till October 10. The Police had launched an investigation into the semi-nude photos appearing on social media, taken on the Pidurangala rock. The photographs show a group of local men with their pants down and bare chested posing for the camera. A complaint had been lodged with the Police over the photographs. The three youth were subsequently arrested and remanded till today. (C
