The United National Party (UNP) has appointed a committee to investigate the controversial statement made by?UNP Parliamentarian and former State Minister of Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran. Pakistan ex-PM Nawaz Sharif given 10-year jail term

A Pakistani court has sentenced former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to 10 years in prison on corruption charges related to four luxury London flats. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court handed down the verdict after a series of delays. His daughter and son-in-law were also convicted. Travel ban issued on Edirisinghe family over ETI probe

The Colombo Fort Magistrate?s Court today issued a travel ban on four Directors of Edirisinghe Trust Investment (ETI) over an ongoing investigation. The Directors of ETI, Jeewaka Edirisinghe, Deepa Edirisinghe, Nalaka Edirisinghe and Asanka Edirisinghe have been prevented from travelling overseas.
