President calls for urgent cabinet meeting tomorrow

President Maithripala Sirisena has called for an urgent cabinet meeting tomorrow, media reports said.

The Morning newspaper website said that President Sirisena had called for an emergency Cabinet meeting tomorrow afternoon.

The weekly cabinet meeting was held yesterday (Tuesday) yet the President had called for an emergency meeting tomorrow.

Several cabinet Ministers including Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Ministers Malik Samarawickrema, Duminda Dissanayake, Gayantha Karunathileka, Rauf Hakeem, Nimal Siripala De Silva and Sagala Rathnayake?are currently overseas on official tours,?The Morning reported.

Hotline introduced to inquire on essential services

A 24-hour hotline has been introduced for the public to make inquiries with regard to essential services. The public have been informed to contact the hotline 1965 to inquire about essential services that are in operation during the islandwide travel ban. Three suspects arrested over death of Puttalam UC Chairman

Americans advised against visiting Sri Lanka

Americans have been advised against visiting Sri Lanka because of the coronavirus situation.
