Court orders protection for Namal Kumara

The Police has been ordered to give protection to informant and activist Namal Kumara under the Victims and Witness Protection Act. The order was issued by the Colombo Fort Magistrate?s Court today following a request made by Namal Kumara’s lawyers. Namal Kumara had sought protection as he was the main informant in the plot to kill President Maithripala Sirisena and other VIPs. (Colombo Gazette)

A suspect deported from Dubai this week was released today after being questioned. The Police said that?Mohamed Jabeer Mohamed Mufa was released after being questioned for several hours by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
