Indian arrested in Pettah with the Ice drug worth Rs. 10 million

An?Indian national was arrested in Pettah with the Ice drug worth Rs 10 million, the Police said.

The Police said that the Indian was arrested by the?Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The 30-year-old Indian had in his possession 878 grams if Ice at the time of the arrest.

Health Minister orders probe over mix-up of bodies

Over 30 people admitted to Maskeliya hospital with food poisoning

Over 30 people have been admitted to hospital in Maskeliya with food poisoning. Those admitted to hospital are mostly plantation workers and their family members. They had fallen ill last night (Friday) after eating food at a function held in the afternoon. In all, 37 people were admitted to hospital last night for treatment. Among those admitted to hospital were three children.
