AG advise sought to release full report on treasury bond scam

The advice of the Attorney General (AG) has been sought to release the full report of the Presidential Commission on the Central Bank treasury bond scam.

President’s Secretary Austin Fernando said that he has sought the advise of the AG to make public the full report.

The report of the Presidential Commission which investigated the treasury bond scam was handed over to the President last December and to Parliament last January.

The report found that the public suffered a loss of?Rs. 11.5 billion as a result of the?treasury bond deal.

The report also found that Perpetual Treasuries had made profits over?11,145 million.?(Colombo Gazette)

Final decision with PSC

The government says the final decision on any changes to be made to the 13th Amendment to the constitution will be in the hands of the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) despite some opposition to it.
