Soldier stabbed to death inside guard post

A soldier was stabbed to death inside a guard post at the?Ambepussa Army Camp while he was on duty today. The soldier was on duty at the post when he was killed. The soldier was identified as a 21 year old resident of Kegalle. Investigations are underway. (Colombo Gazette)

Army officer arrested over Eknaligoda’s disappearance remanded

An?Army intelligence officer who was arrested over the disappearance of journalist?Prageeth Eknaligoda has been ordered to be remanded till September 28th. Lieutenant Colonel Erantha Peiris was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday. Eknaligoda, a cartoonist, political analyst and journalist, was reported missing on January 24, 2010 ? two days before the Presidential polls. Supreme Court upholds order on SAITM medical degree holders

The Supreme Court has upheld the Appeal Court ruling that the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) must register medical graduates of the?South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM). The SLMC had appealed against the Appeal Court ruling to?register SAITM medical degree holders. However the?Supreme Court rejected the appeal and ordered that SAITM medical graduates be registered with the SLMC. (Colombo Gazette)
