Two killed, two others injured in Pottuvil accident

Two people were killed and two others sustained injuries following an accident in Pottuvil, the Police said. The Police said that a car had crashed into four people of the same family along the?Pottuvil-Akkaraipattu road. A 34 year old woman and her six year old daughter were killed in the incident. The Police said that a 12 year old girl and a 11 year old boy were injured in the accident and admitted to hospital for treatment.

Salaries halted for doctors, nurses who failed to report to work after transfer

The salaries of doctors and nurses who failed to report to work after they were transferred, has been halted. The decision was taken following instructions issued by Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, the Health Ministry said today. The Health Minister has also instructed his Ministry to initiate disciplinary action against the doctors and nurses. (Colombo Gazette)
