President appoints commission to investigate bond issue

President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed a three member committee to investigate the Central Bank treasury bond issue. The President’s office said that Supreme Court Judge K.T. Chithrasiri, P.S. Parliament erupts over recognition given to SAITM

A heated exchange of words took place in Parliament today over the recognition given to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM). Higher Education Minister Lakshman Kiriella said that SAITM was approved by the former Government. He urged former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to allow SAITM to be given legal recognition.
