Government will resolve SAITM issue but will not close it

The?Government today informed Parliament it will resolve the Malabe SAITM campus issue but will not close it.

Higher Education Minister Lakshman Kiriella said that the Government cannot close the?SAITM campus as the matter is before court.

However he said the Government is committed to resolve the SAITM issue and a solution is likely to be reached next week. (Colombo Gazette)

Retirement age for civil officers amended to 60 years

The retirement age for civil officers has been amended to 60 years with effect from 01 January 2023. Minister insists no move to legalise cannabis

State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Sisira Jayakody, today insisted that there was no move to legalise cannabis. Responding to a question raised in Parliament today, Jayakody said that a Cabinet paper has not been prepared to legalise cannabis.
