Pakistan?s Naval Chief to visit Sri Lanka

Pakistan?s Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi NI(M) is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka on the invitation of SL Navy commander, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva from January 25-29, 2020. During his stay in Sri Lanka, Naval Chief will meet Commanders of the Navy, Army,Air force and Defence Secretary. He will also call on the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. Suspects accused over abduction of 11 youth granted bail

The Permanent High Court at Bar today granted bail to former Navy Media Spokesperson Commodore DKP Dassanayake and 12 others, who were charged with the abduction and disappearance of eleven youth in Colombo and its suburbs in 2008 and 2009. A three member Permanent High Court panel comprising of Justices Champa Janaki Rajaratne, Amal Ranaraja and Navaratne Marasinghe granted bail to the 13 accused. Speaker insists copies of Ranjan’s telephone recordings not received

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today reiterated that that Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake has not tabled copies of the controversial telephone recordings. Responding to a question raised in Parliament today, the Speaker denied reports that copies of the recordings had been received.
