No change to key posts in the UNP following meeting

There was no change to any of the key posts in the United National Party (UNP) following the Working Committee meeting held today.

The?UNP?Working Committee meeting took place at the party headquarters in Sirikotha today.

There were reports that a new Deputy and Assistant leader will be appointed.

However the UNP said that no such decision was taken at the meeting today.

Instead the party discussed the May Day rally of the UNP and the Local Government elections. (Colombo Gazette)

Shots fired targeting an ambulance in Panadura

Shots were fired targeting an ambulance in Panadura near a hospital today. The Police said that gunshots were fired near the Kethumathi Hospital in Panadura. Gunmen travelling on a motorcycle opened fire targeting the driver of the ambulance. The driver escaped unhurt in the shooting incident. At least four gunmen carried out the shooting. Investigations are underway. (Colombo Gazette)
