Sri Lanka bans entry to all passenger flights and ships

Sri Lanka has decided to ban entry to all passenger flights and ships to the country. The President’s media division (PMD) said the ban will be with immediate effect. The ban has been enforced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in Sri Lanka. The PMD added that all departure flights from Sri Lanka will continue to operate as usual. (Colombo Gazette)

Grace period offered to pay electricity bills

The Ministry of Power and Energy has granted a grace period for the payment of electricity bills for the month of February. Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said consumers will be allowed to settle their February bills by 31 March. The electricity supply will not be disconnected during this period, he added. Colombo East Base Hospital converted to treat coronavirus patients

The Colombo East Base Hospital has been converted to treat coronavirus patients, the Health Ministry said today. Director General of Health Services, Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that the hospital has been equipped to treat coronavirus patients.
